Memorial to those lost at sea on board the fishing boats

Gloucester is a quiet fishing village located just up the road from Salem. It's also the town that is featured in the movie The Perfect Storm. We decided it was worth a look so stopped in after visiting Salem. The local maritime museum (only small) had some good displays on life on a fishing boat and various methods and techniques they use to locate the big fish.

Downstairs from the maritime museum was a scuba diving display with everything from the old steel boot / steel helmet diving suits, to modern day gear that allows divers go down to depths that should only be attempted in a submarine. I thought we'd never get out of the place because the owner loved to talk. Somehow I don't think he gets a lot of people stop by, so he made the most of the opportunity to show us around. That said it was very interesting.
