Ohio was acquired by the US after the Revolutionary War in 1783 and the first permanent settlement was established in 1788. During the Civil War it was one of the first free states that slaves could travel to via the Underground Railway.
Some of the major attractions include: the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Indian burial grounds at Mound City Group National Monument, Pro Football Hall of Fame, USAF Museum, the Wright Brothers bicycle shop and the homes of Presidents Grant, Taft, Hayes, Harding and Garfield.
We spent three weeks in Dayton at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base while Adam attended a course learning all about purchasing military equipment and services through the US Department of Defence. Part of the course included tours around Dayton, Columbus and Cincinnati.
