Welcome to our main page on what exactly we've been up to whilst living and traveling in the USA. Here you'll be able to follow our adventures and hopefully we'll even be able to teach you a little bit about what we learn as we travel around.
As we travel to different states within the US we will update this page and add a link to for each state we have visited. We'll have to see how close we get to visiting all 50 states. The link below will take you to a map of the USA, which will allow you to orientate yourself as to where each state is.
As we start visiting different places in States that we have visited previously, I have also included a quick reference to what is new at the bottom of that States page. Just keep looking for the
I can't believe it's been six months since I have last updated the website. It seems like only yesterday that I was adding more photos. Where has the time gone? Well a lot has certainly happened since then. Alexander is just passed his six month birthday and is doing really well. He's a great little kid and growing way to fast. It's amazing just to sit and watching him grow, learn new things and explore his surroundings.
We have visited another nine new states, all different and all just so amazing. There really is so much to see and do that we could have spent weeks in each state quite easily. Damn work getting in the way!!!
The other news is that we've moved house and are now living in southern Maryland near the Naval Air Station Patuxent River. Unfortunately our landlords needed their house back, while at the same time Adam's office was being moved down closer to the US Navy team he works with. Not to worry, just another part of the country to experience.
Anyway enjoy the updates, as much as we enjoyed visiting them.
Happy New Year to everyone. We're not doing too well with the updates on this page but we have been updating some of the State's pages with our going's on. Since last time I wrote on this page, we have visited the North East (or New England) area of the US. It's absolutely beautiful and definitely worth a visit if you have time. I have also finished the pages from our Florida trip and finally managed to update the pages from our trip to Ohio way back in March. Sorry it's taken so long.
Make sure you have a look at our Christmas turkey under the Virginia page. It's amazing how big a 24lb turkey is.
Well it's been a while since our last update but we've been busy. We've visited Detroit (in Michigan), various parts of Florida and also drove down to Williamsburg, VA to catch up with friends and visit Williamsburg and Yorktown. Our state count is currently at 15 but we're hoping to improve that before the end of the year. We also helped the American's celebrate the 4th July and the fireworks in DC were pretty good. They just seemed to keep going. I can't believe that we're closing in fast on our 1st year anniversary of moving to the US. We've still got the last few pages to update from our trip to Ohio and Florida but it's been a while since we've published any updates we'll just have to do it in stages. Enjoy the updates.
Check out the new additions to the Maryland (Air Show), Tennessee and Ohio pages. I think we have almost got caught up with getting the website up to date. It's just in time before we head off on more tripping around the US.
We had our second dance competition with Arthur Murray last weekend and we were extremely pleased with our performance. The competition was called All-Around and we came second in our event - see the Virginia / Dancing page for more details.
The last couple of weeks have been extremely busy. Firstly Darren and Kylie from Adelaide stayed with us for a few days. It was great showing them around where we lived. They spent a few days looking around by themselves but we also took a day off work and visited Mt Vernon, the US Capitol building and the Air and Space Smithsonian. They have moved some of the artifacts from the American History Smithsonian to the Air and Space Smithsonian while it is being renovated. Last week we had my friends Adam and Lynda who are on exchange with the USAF and living in Florida. It was great to catch up with them and exchange a few posting stories. Though we're living in two completely different cities and areas, it's amazing how similar some of our experiences are. This last weekend was the Memorial Day holiday weekend. It's the United States version of ANZAC Day and there opportunity to stop, remember and pay tribute to the men and women who have and are still serving in the military, especially those paid the ultimate price. So have a look at the new pages in Maryland, Washington DC and Virginia.
Happy Mother's Day to all those Mums (or Moms) out there. Unfortunately we can't be with our mothers today but we were thinking of them and dropped by to visit our friends Jeff and Nicole and meet their new addition to the family, Wyatt. He arrived just in time for Nicole to celebrate her first Mother's Day. I've updated a few more pages so have a look and see what we've been up to. Our first visitors arrive tomorrow (Darren and Kylie) so Carol has been busily planning their stay and working out everything they should do and see.
To date we have visited 13 states and since we last updated the website we have been to Chicago and I spent three weeks on a course in Dayton, Ohio. So far we have mainly concentrated on the east coast of the US but it's only a matter of time before we head inland and further west.
