On a hot tip from a friend, we headed to Cook's Lobster house, which is about 20min drive from Naval Air Station Brunswick (which is where we were staying). All up the coast we had been holding out on eating lobster until we got to Maine. For dinner that night we were going to let ourselves go.
We both ordered one of the specials, which came out with lobster or clam chowder, crumbed shrimp and a 2lb lobster. Carol had the clam chowder and I had the lobster chowder. They must have been eating lots in preparation for the winter hibernation because the portion size of the chowder and shrimp were considerable but thankfully they left a good deal of time between each course to allow the food to settle and save room for the lobster.
Only one word can really describe the lobster and the whole meal for that matter....AWESOME. It was sensational, succulent, full of flavor, mouth watering, the list of adjectives could just go on and on.
All we can recommend is that if you ever have the chance to try lobster from Maine, don't turn down the opportunity.
