Myrtle Beach

In August Adam and a group of Australian golfing enthusiast friends headed south to Myrtle Beach for a week of golf. He's gone a little golfing mad over here but with all the fantastic courses that are available, I guess this is the place to do it.

There were down there for four nights and played four rounds of golf on some great courses. The Myrtle Beach area has about 70 golf courses and countless golf outlet shops. Thankfully for the bank account all Adam came back with was a new putter and some golf plays.

The first round was at Wachesaw Plantation. A tricky course with tight fairways and undulating greens.

Round two was played at Prestwick Country Club. Certainly a beautiful course but more sand than at the beach and almost as much water.

Wicked Stick was the third course they played at and was designed by John Daly. The motto for the course was "grip it and rip it". Kind of appropriate for John Daly.

The final course was Tradition Club and probably the best of the four. It had a good balance between forgiveness for the way-would shot and a challenge to ensure people didn't shoot low scores.
