In 1513 a Spanish explorer discovered, named Florida and claimed it for Spain whilst searching for the mythical "Fountain of Youth". Through the years Florida would be held at different times by Spain and England, until Spain finally sold it to the US in 1819.
There are an abundance of points of interest around Florida, it just really depends on your taste. Attractions include (but not limited to): the Orlando area - Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios, Tampa, Miami, the Kennedy Space Center and NASA, the Everglades National Park, Destin / Fort Walton Beach and Key West, which is way down in the Florida keys.
Adam had a work conference at one of the resorts in the Disney World complex. The US military certainly know where and how to hold conferences. Carol flew down at the end of the conference, allowing us to work a little holiday into this work trip to Florida. We explored Disney World, Sea World, the Kennedy Space Center, saw alligators as we sped around the Everglades on a fan boat, spent some days relaxing on the beach in Sarasota (friends from dancing were generous enough to allow let us stay at their holiday house in Sarasota, a quick stopover in Miami and for Adam he finally got to see a space shuttle launch. Adam also managed to squeeze in a couple of rounds of golf on some very impressive golf courses. Not bad for a weeks holiday.
